Among the speakers was Leicestershire-based visibility and PR specialist Estelle Keeber, founder of Immortal Monkey, who delivered a session focused on helping business owners understand how press and media can support credibility and growth.

Estelle said:

“Sutton Coldfield has a really strong business community, and the energy in the room reflected that. Events like this give people the chance to step away from the day-to-day of running a business and focus on learning, connection and growth. My goal is always to help business owners see that press and media isn’t out of reach and that with the right approach, it can be a powerful tool for visibility.”

The Sutton Coldfield show marked the first major event of the year for Hashtag Events, which runs business networking and education events across the UK.

The event also featured a collaboration with HelpBnk and Simon Squibb’s Doorbell of Dreams, aimed at supporting aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs by connecting them with advice, encouragement and opportunity. The collaboration will continue at the Wolverhampton Business Show next week.

Attendees travelled from across the country to take part, including Steven J Innes, who plays a dual role at Hashtag Events as both a master of ceremonies and business owner.

Hashtag Events founder Andrew Charlton said the response to the Sutton Coldfield show highlighted the strength of the local business community.

Steven said: “Another fantastic business show at Sutton Coldfield. I’ve got two roles at Hashtag Events and for me every show is a great opportunity to showcase what I do as an MC and grow my Synergy Worldwide business.

It’s less about selling and more about building connections and developing relationships. This was a new venue for Hashtag, but I came away with lots of enquiries and new connections. Well worth the seven-and-a-half-hour drive from Aberdeen. It really is about showing up and being consistent.”

“It was fabulous to be so well received by the business community in Sutton Coldfield. Entrepreneurs, start-up founders and established business owners came together to network, learn and expand their businesses. Bringing them all together in a community setting was a brilliant experience. When you combine their determination to grow their connections and expand their knowledge it makes a perfect storm for success.”

He added: “We are fortunate to be able to bring our roadshow of world class experts around the UK and Sutton Coldfield was no exception. We have assembled a team who can help propel any size organisation to the next level with the best coaching in marketing, social media, PR and networking you can find anywhere in the UK.”

Hashtag Events will be running further business shows across the UK throughout 2026.
