Cybersecurity firm ‘locks in growth plan’ with new hub

Share

A cybersecurity firm has unveiled national growth plans following an office move.

Sapphire has switched to Newcastle’s St James’ Gate.

Bosses say the hub is a “clear marker” of its expansion ambitions, adding it will provide “a central, well-connected base for colleagues, customers and partners”.

They add the move will also help create a small number of jobs over the coming months.

Founded in 1996, Sapphire provides managed and security services to operators such as Government bodies, global enterprises and SMEs working across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, gaming and insurance.

Nadine Errington, chief financial officer, said: “Cybersecurity is a fast-growing, constantly evolving industry, and our strategy is working.

“We’ve seen significant year-on-year growth, with sales and recurring revenue increasing strongly, alongside a substantial improvement in profitability.

“The Newcastle office gives us access to exceptional talent and allows us to grow our team in a way that supports our customers and our long-term ambitions.

“This is about building for the future and creating high-quality roles in the North East as Sapphire enters its next phase of growth.”

Kiran Fothergill, Sapphire chair, added: “Our new office is a clear marker of our ambition.

“Newcastle has a fantastic technology ecosystem and a strong academic base, producing exactly the kind of talent we want to attract and retain.

“As a business that is now winning contracts we simply wouldn’t have imagined a few years ago, it’s vital we continue to invest in the right environments for our teams and customers.”
