A UK cash and carry has entered administration, an official notice has revealed. The notice, shared in the London Gazette on April 24, 2026, revealed that SK Food and Drinks Limited entered administration on April 21. The business, which officially engages in the “non-specialised wholesale of food and beverages”, was incorporated as a company in 2011, according to Companies House. It has not shared any statements about entering administration, so a reason has not been revealed.

Companies normally enter administration when they are having financial difficulties and want to save all or part of the business. An administrator is an outside body that is appointed to manage the business and bring in changes to save it. SK Food and Drinks Limited has a registered address at Unit 1, Gravelly Industrial Park, Birmingham, West Midlands, B24 8HZ. Sandra Fender of Sanderlings LLP has been appointed as administrator to the business.

Administration does not mean a company is closing down, although store closures sometimes happen as part of the process. While SK Food and Drinks Limited has not addressed its move into administration, companies that have gone through similar processes have blamed things like changing customer habits, labour costs and operational costs for financial difficulties.

While SK Food and Drinks Limited has not ceased operations, its website is currently not active. However, its social media accounts are still live.

According to its LinkedIn page, it employs anywhere between 11 and 50 employees. “SK FOOD AND DRINKS LIMITED is a wholesaler to the Retail, On Trade and Food Service based in the West Midlands,” its LinkedIn description reads.

On its Facebook page, its most recent posts promote deals on alcohol, confectionery, and sugary drinks.

Additionally, a British TV manufacturer, Opus Restructuring LLP, has filed for administration after 16 years in business.

The Daily Express has approached SK Food and Drinks Limited for comment.
