Steve Brown, head of East Anglia, at Barclays Corporate Banking, said recognising Norfolk businesses through the Business of the Year category “acknowledges exceptional leadership, performance and impact, giving well-deserved pride to management and workforces alike, while showcasing local excellence and inspiring others across Norfolk’s business community”.
He added: “Recognising the Business of the Year also reflects our commitment to helping businesses thrive and strengthen the wider local economy.”
Mr Brown said Barclays supports leading businesses with the funding, insight and specialist expertise they need to invest, innovate and scale sustainably.
The Barclays Business Prosperity Fund is available for new and existing Business Banking customers and UK Corporate Banking clients across the UK to apply for lending and refinancing on existing projects.
For businesses entering any of this year’s award categories, Mr Brown has one piece of advice – don’t undersell yourselves.
“Norfolk businesses are often modest about their achievements, but award entries are not the time for understatement,” he said.
“Be clear and confident about what sets you apart, not only in your core business performance but in how you support your people, the local community and charitable causes.”
The awards celebrate business excellence, which to Mr Brown means “leading in a way that leaves the business stronger, the culture healthier and the impact more positive than before”.
He added: “It means making decisions that support long-term success for customers and employees alike, while contributing meaningfully to the wider community so that tomorrow is genuinely better than today.”
