A UK used car dealership is on the brink of liquidation as jobs hang in the balance. Carnegie Cars Ltd faces closure after a petition for it to be wound up and a liquidator appointed was presented to the Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
The Advocate General for Scotland lodged the petition on behalf of HMRC commissioners. Any parties claiming an interest have been asked to contact the court within eight days. The company’s address was given as Torridon House, Torridon Lane, in Rosyth, although it traded from a location at Baldridgeburn in Dunfermline.
Once that happens, it would be removed from the official register and cease to exist.
The used car company is not the only Scottish business faced with tough financial conditions.
A petition was presented to Aberdeen Sheriff Court by the Advocate General on behalf of the HMRC commissioners, calling for the company to be wound up and a liquidator to be appointed.
It was lodged in February and, this month, Duncan Raggett of AAB Business & Tax Advisory was appointed as liquidator.
Records on companies show Jaco Couriers Limited, described as a “same day courier specialists in Aberdeen and also covering UK”, owed creditors £139,000 in 2024.
