At the same time, Ampere has acquired PlumResearch, the Poland-based audience specialist company. Financials terms of that deal were not revealed either.

The UK-based Goldenpeak has taken a majority stake in Ampere – marking its first deal since being launched last year. The investment will help Ampere to scale and has been crucial in the deal for Plum. Since Ampere’s launch in 2015, TV and film has become increasingly data-driven with the advent of global streaming.

“This strategic investment sits firmly within Goldenpeak’s investment focus,” said Mark Williams, founder and Managing Partner at Goldenpeak. “Ampere Analysis is a founder-led business with a differentiated product, strong market reputation and sustained top-line performance. The management team is ambitious and innovative, and we look forward to partnering with them to support the next phase of development.”

Dan Stevenson, Managing Director at Ampere, said: “This partnership marks a new chapter for Ampere Analysis. With Goldenpeak’s backing, we have an opportunity to accelerate our growth ambitions and strengthen our position as a leading data and analytics platform for the global media industry. We’ll be able to broaden our capabilities, innovate faster and deliver deeper insights and greater value for clients.”

Goldenpeak was advised by Plural on commercial due diligence, KPMG on financial due diligence, Squires Patton Boggs on legal counsel and Cardean Bell on corporate finance. Ampere was advised by Raymond James as financial advisor, Addleshaw Goddard on legal counsel, along with Liberty Corporate Finance, and Deloitte.

The PlumResearch acquisition, which was also founded in 2015, operates across 75 territories. The company has developed a deep audience measurement tool, which will now sit alongside Ampere’s market sizing, consumer behavior and title-level data operation.

“From the outset, we saw a strong alignment between PlumResearch and Ampere Analysis in
both our approach to innovation and our ambition for the future of media analytics,” said Lukasz Jeziorski, founder and CEO at PlumResearch. “Together, we bring complementary strengths in content analytics, KPI measurement and audience-level data, creating significant opportunities for clients and the wider business.”

Richard Broughton, Executive Director at Ampere Analysis, said: “Plum’s approach to streaming measurement is both innovative and highly practical, combining device agnostic tracking, large panels, and rich behavioural metrics to deliver practical value for media clients. Under Lukasz’s leadership, Plum has not only built impressive technology and audience intelligence capabilities, but has done so in a way that has already earned the trust of leading names across the global entertainment industry.”

Up to this point, Polish venture capital firm Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder has supported PlumResearch from an investment standpoint.

Michał Wrzolek, Senior Investment Director at Tar Heel Capital Pathfinder, said: “As PlumResearch’s first investor, we have had a front-row seat to an exceptional entrepreneurial journey. This acquisition by Ampere Analysis is a well-deserved recognition of the team’s achievements. It has been a privilege to support them along the way, and we could not be prouder of what they have built. We wish PlumResearch and Ampere Analysis the very best in this exciting new chapter.”
