According to Cybernews’ 2025 AI Adoption Index, the UK reached a 55 per cent adoption rate in 2025, up from 29 per cent in 2024 and just 14 per cent in 2023.
Downloads of the top 100 AI apps in the UK reached 9.4 million in 2023, 19.9 million in 2024, and 37.9 million in 2025, with a +90% year-over-year increase from 2024 to 2025.
The United Arab Emirates ranked third at 56 per cent adoption, Latvia ranked fourth at 55 per cent, with the UK sixth at 55 per cent.
The top-ranked country was Singapore at 66 per cent, followed by Chile (60 per cent).
The Cybernews study analysed app downloads across 64 countries to identify trends in consumer AI tool adoption.
Cybernews said: “The United Kingdom is the AI adoption leader among Western economies.”
The United States was ranked 28th with an adoption rate of 41 per cent.
