The university and the Cabinet Office Second Headquarters in Glasgow have worked together for the last four years, and it is hoped that the partnership announcement will support the government’s Places for Growth ambitions.

Leadership programmes designed by both parties are being delivered through the university’s Centre for Public Policy, and there has been enhanced engagement on topics like quantum technologies and artificial intelligence.
The university has also hosted a number of successful civil service careers fairs and Cabinet Office Conversations events.
Professor Andy Schofield, Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said: “We are delighted to sign this Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Cabinet Office, building on several years of collaboration to create new opportunities for our students and staff, as well as the wider community around Glasgow.
