All 32 upgraded locations are scheduled for completion by 2027.

While details on most of the locations are being kept under wraps, it is known the Oxford Street flagship store in London will feature a new Benugo-operated restaurant on the fifth floor.

Katie Papakonstantinou, John Lewis’ director of services and hospitality, said the changes would deliver “a fresh and exciting John Lewis hospitality experience”.

Ben Warner, founder of Benugo, added: “We’re incredibly proud of our longstanding partnership with John Lewis, and we’re excited to be growing it to create an exciting new brand.

“As we expand our work together, we’ll be working closely with the partners, sharing our focus on training and experience so the teams feel supported and confident to deliver the warm, welcoming hospitality that both Benugo and John Lewis are known for.”

The menu will reportedly use locally-sourced ingredients.

Work on six initial sites is expected to begin in May.

The plans come after two years of negotiations with both businesses deepening their relationship.
