The announcement comes at a time when the climate crisis and rising social inequality pose urgent challenges for businesses and the wider economy.

B Corp certification assesses an organisation’s entire operations, including governance, workers, community impact, environmental responsibility and customer practices.

The process is thorough and evidence‑based, requiring organisations to demonstrate measurable impact and make a legal commitment to consider the interests of people and the planet alongside financial outcomes.

By securing B Corp status the chamber joins a global community of more than 10,000 certified companies.

The UK has the largest and fastest‑growing B Corp community worldwide with more than 2,500 certified organisations from well‑known brands such as The Guardian, Patagonia and Innocent Drinks to a wide range of innovative SMEs across multiple sectors.

The chamber is also a member of the Better Business Act coalition, a network of more than 3,000 organisations calling for changes to UK company law to ensure businesses align long‑term success with wider social and environmental interests.

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, welcomed the chamber to the B Corp movement.
