Vinci Energies has bought telecoms construction specialist Novo Technologies as it seeks to boost its wireless infrastructure offering.

The deal will see 71 employees of the Scottish outfit join the French-owned business.

Novo Technologies posted turnover of £17.5m for the year to 31 August 2025, up 13 per cent from the previous period.

However, the company’s pre-tax profit fell by 46 per cent to £832,400.

The North Ayrshire firm was founded in 2016 and undertakes end-to-end telecoms construction projects for carrier and enterprise clients such as National Grid, CityFibre and Cellnex.

It claims to have built the UK’s largest privately owned wide-area network broadband system for CalMac Ferries.

Vinci Energies has more than 100,000 employees and revenue of €22bn (£19bn), according to its website.

Part of French conglomerate Vinci Group (which also owns Vinci Construction in the UK), it works in the energy, transport and communication infrastructure sectors.

Russell Crampin, UK and Ireland director at Vinci Energies, said the Novo Technologies acquisition is “a core part of our strategic direction over the next three years”.

He added: “As connectivity continues to underpin the digital transformation of businesses’ sites and field-based activity, strengthening our capabilities in wireless infrastructure delivery was a natural next step.”

Matt Wynne, managing director of Novo Technologies, said the deal “marks an important step for us”.

“Joining Vinci Energies will give us the scale and capability to respond to the growing demand for projects supporting the UK’s wireless connectivity ambition,” he added.

“It also represents a significant opportunity for our people, opening up new doors, opportunities and long-term growth.”
