UK haulage firm plunged into administration as staff lose jobs – 42 redundancies

A fresh update has been issued around a UK family haulage company that dropped into administration, with dozens of job cuts now confirmed. Administrators working for Instant Despatch Services Ltd, trading as Loop Logistics, issued a statement regarding the business, confirming staff would lose their jobs.

Administrators have revealed that 42 individuals have been made redundant in another blow to the UK motor industry. Glyn Mummery and Julie Humphrey of FRP Advisory were appointed as Joint Administrators to Instant Despatch Services Ltd on May 6, 2026. A notice was published in The London Gazette soon after.

However, administrators explain that despite these efforts, the business “was ultimately unable to continue operating sustainably and trading ceased on 24 April 2026”.

A statement continued: “A total of 42 employees have been made redundant, with a small number retained to assist the Joint Administrators with the orderly wind down of the business and to facilitate the collection of customer goods over the coming weeks. The administrators will also support those affected employees with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service.”

Instant Despatch Services Ltd were based in Northampton, with the company operating a logistics and delivery business providing fulfilment and distribution services to customers across the UK. Alongside deliveries and haulage, the business also offered customers 60,000sq ft of warehousing space.

According to Companies House, the business had been incorporated back in 2002 and was set to celebrate its 24th anniversary later this summer.

Glyn Mummery, partner at FRP Advisory and joint administrator of Instant Despatch Services Ltd, said: “Loop Logistics had built an established presence in the logistics sector. Unfortunately, despite efforts to secure the future of the business, ongoing operational and financial challenges meant it was unable to continue trading.

“Our priority now is to support employees and customers while ensuring an orderly wind down of the business.”

The news comes after a series of haulage firms have fallen into difficulty this spring, with Nottingham-based Martyn Barratt Transport Limited entering administration in April after almost 26 years in operation. North West-based freight firm, John K Philips Group Limited, also entered administration back in April.
