Investec Bank plc has appointed Terry Koizou as head of client relationship management in its UK corporate banking business as it continues to expand its support for entrepreneurial mid-market businesses.
Terry joins the international bank and wealth manager with more than 20 years’ experience in banking and finance, including senior leadership roles at Citi Commercial Bank, where he led client coverage teams across the UK.
In his new role, he will oversee the development of Investec’s client relationship management capability and help build a dedicated team expected to grow to more than 40 relationship managers.
Terry said: “There is a real opportunity to serve ambitious mid-market businesses with a more personal and specialist approach.
“At different points in their lifecycle, these businesses face complex decisions around funding, cash flow, risk, strategic investment and long-term value, and they need a banking partner that understands those challenges and can bring the right expertise to bear at the right time.
“What makes this opportunity so compelling is the chance to build a relationship-led service that is highly personalised and genuinely useful to clients.
“My focus will be on building a high-performing relationship management team designed to spend more time adding value for clients, staying close to their businesses and helping them realise their growth ambitions.”
Terry’s appointment forms part of Investec’s wider strategy to deliver a more personalised, relationship-led banking service for mid-market businesses, combining specialist expertise with dedicated regional and sector-focused support.
The appointment also follows the recent arrivals of chief operating officer Simon Jacobs and head of credit and risk Dean Sullivan, further strengthening Investec’s UK corporate banking leadership team.
Andy Hart, head of corporate banking at Investec Bank plc, added: “Terry’s appointment is an important step as we accelerate the growth of our corporate banking business in the UK.
“We are building something genuinely differentiated: corporate banking that feels like private banking.
“That means a highly personalised service that combines specialist banking capability with the kind of close, trusted relationships ambitious mid-market businesses often struggle to find.
“Terry’s appointment, alongside Simon Jacobs and Dean Sullivan, further strengthens the leadership team we are putting in place to support our growth objectives in UK corporate banking.
“These businesses face important decisions throughout their lifecycle – from managing cash flow and protecting against risk to refinancing, investing for growth and realising value.
“They want a banking partner that understands their world, stays close to them and helps them move forward with clarity and confidence.”
