AI Submission Policy | Institute for Family Studies

Share

The Institute for Family Studies (IFS) is committed to producing and disseminating original, high quality research, and to the flourishing of the human person and family. As such, IFS will not accept for publication any submission that contains AI-generated writing.

We believe that AI should supplement rather than replace human inquiry, reasoning, and analysis. To that end, while contributors may use AI to assist with various research tasks, submissions must be the authors’ own work and voice. All contributors are responsible for the quality and accuracy of their research, regardless of their AI usage.

Submitted drafts should be written in the author’s own words and should not contain any AI-generated prose, including automated text generated by LLM-based editing software such as Grammarly.

Authors are encouraged to use standard, well-established spell-checking and grammar tools that are not AI-based. All accepted submissions will go through our regular editorial process before final publication.

Contributors who fail to comply with these policies may permanently forfeit the Institute’s consideration of their work, including any and all future submissions.
