DULUTH, GA—HD Hyundai Robotics, a provider of robotic and smart factory technology, will present four automation systems at this year’s Fabtech show, which will be held Oct. 21-23 in Las Vegas.
The exhibition marks a milestone in HD Hyundai Robotics’ growth strategy in the North American market. Earlier this year, the company successfully supplied a robotic welding system to a U.S. shipyard, demonstrating the practical applicability of its automation technologies in one of the industry’s most challenging environments. HD Hyundai Robotics aims to introduce a portfolio of automation systems designed to address labor shortages, productivity challenges, and quality requirements across various manufacturing sectors.
In booth S40105, visitors will see ArcLift GO, ArcPak, ArcAdaptIQ, and a robot from the new HDC Series of heavy-duty collaborative robots. All four will be running live demonstrations throughout the show.
Making its U.S. debut, ArcLift GO and ArcLift SLIDE are collaborative robot-based automated welding systems for confined and restricted workspaces. The systems are designed to be easily repositioned by workers and allow multiple robots to be operated simultaneously, delivering increased flexibility and productivity. These solutions have been proven in daily production at HD Hyundai shipyards. Proprietary software creates the weld paths, while touch sensing and arc sensing let the system adjust to part variation with minimal operator input.
ArcPak is a smart welding automation platform utilizing CAD-based programming and 3D structured-light scanning technology to recognize the actual geometry of parts to then automatically generate optimal welding paths and compensate for variations. Built to handle larger parts in high-mix, low-volume production, it is already running in live production environments, where it reduces operator dependency and improves both productivity and quality.
Another highlight will be ArcAdapt IQ, an AI-powered welding quality management technology. Using specialized vision sensors, the system continuously monitors the weld pool in real time and automatically adjusts welding parameters such as voltage, current, and travel speed. This allows manufacturers to maintain stable weld quality despite variations in workpiece conditions and production environments.
Finally, visitors will have the opportunity to see one of the company’s new HDC Series cobots, which combine the safety of a collaborative robot with the performance of an industrial robot. Designed for heavy-duty tasks such as palletizing, machine tending and handling, the series targets heavy-workpiece applications in the automotive, battery and logistics industries, where collaborative robot adoption has been limited so far. It uses radar-based sensing, supported by SafeSpace 2.0, HD Hyundai Robotics’ next-generation in-house control solution.
