Krzysztof Bar, chief executive at LISA, said: “The AI safety field in the UK is growing fast and LISA has already outgrown its current space. TRIBECA gives us room for the organisations and programmes working on AI safety today, and for the ones that do not exist yet.
“Being in King’s Cross puts us a short walk from the AI companies, research institutes and government bodies we work with most closely to drive AI safety forward in the UK.”
Stewart Deering, chief executive at Reef + Partners, said: “TRIBECA is a unique life sciences and innovation campus at the heart of King’s Cross, London, bringing together leading scientific organisations and innovators to create a research-led environment where ideas, talent and technologies can converge.
“LISA is a fantastic addition to TRIBECA, enhancing the vibrancy and energy we aspire to create across the campus and strengthening collaboration between science, technology and AI. TRIBECA provides an innovation-enabled platform that can support LISA’s vital work in AI safety, bringing together leading organisations, programmes and researchers in the field.
“We are delighted to welcome the LISA team to our ecosystem and look forward to collectively pushing the boundaries of innovation.”
Lewis Silkin LLP advised LISA on the real estate and construction aspects of the letting. The firm continues to advise LISA on the fit-out programme that will transform the shell-and-core space into LISA’s new London hub.
Rachel Francis-Lang, real estate partner at Lewis Silkin LLP, added: “We are delighted to have supported LISA in securing its new hub at TRIBECA. King’s Cross is an outstanding location for an organisation at the forefront of AI safety, placing LISA at the heart of London’s innovation and research ecosystem.
