Mitsubishi Motors UK has renewed a long-standing partnership with JT Hughes, as the family-run dealership launches a new showroom in Shrewsbury.
The showroom, now open at Vanguard Way, Battlefield Enterprise Park, signals the return of new vehicle sales for the Japanese car brand to Shropshire. JT Hughes has been confirmed as the official Mitsubishi Motors UK sales dealer for the Shropshire and Mid Wales area.
When Mitsubishi Motors withdrew from UK new vehicle sales in 2021, JT Hughes continued supporting owners through its Approved Service Centres in Newtown and Telford, maintaining specialist knowledge and access to genuine parts.
That continuity places JT Hughes in a strong position as Mitsubishi Motors re-commences new vehicle sales in the UK market with the L200 Series 7 and Outlander PHEV.
The appointment re-establishes a local route back into the brand for customers across the region, backed by a team already trusted for aftersales support and manufacturer-trained expertise.
Paul Tench, managing director of JT Hughes Group, said: “Customers across Shropshire and Mid Wales have been waiting for Mitsubishi Motors to return, and we’re proud to be bringing the brand back through JT Hughes. We’ve continued supporting Mitsubishi owners throughout, so this isn’t a fresh start — it’s the continuation of a relationship built on trust, knowledge and local service.”
Alex Sheward, head of sales for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, added: “We are entering an exciting phase for the brand, with the imminent arrival of the Outlander PHEV and L200 Series 7. As we continue to strengthen and structure our appointed dealer network, we are proud to partner with long-standing and highly experienced organisations such as JT Hughes—a name synonymous with Mitsubishi Motors in the region.”
The first two vehicles confirmed for the UK relaunch are the All-New Series 7 Mitsubishi L200 and the All-New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
The Series 7 L200 is a comprehensively redesigned pick-up aimed at commercial operators, rural businesses and customers who need strong towing and payload capability, while the Outlander PHEV brings a premium electrified SUV offering for families and professional drivers.
