UK security company has plundged into administration. Close Protection Security, based in Middlesbrough, works with both the public and private sectors, offering services such as security guards, key holding and alarm response, CCTV monitoring, event security, and mobile patrols.
Administrators Martyn James Pullin and David Antony Willis, both of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, were appointed on April 28, according to The Gazette. The company was established in 2017. It comes just a day after another security company, RK9 Security Services, also entered administration.
According to its website, the company’s clients included the Middlesbrough Football Club, Teesside International Airport, the Port of Middlesbrough, or the American multinational technology corporation Cummins.
The business has positive feedback on Google, with one happy customer writing: “Know the owner nearly all my life, and I hired a car for my mams surprise 60th birthday and the service was faultless from pick up to drop off from the full team the driver was a top bloke and went above and beyond to make my mams night even more special and im forever grateful for it, already booking again for my niece for her prom. Would 100% recommend these guys every time.”
One said it is “one of the best companies in the North East,” with a “highly professional and qualified staff”.
The company is yet another UK business out of many to suffer. There were 83,195 business closures in the UK between January and March, according to Office for National Statistics data. This is up from 65,750 business closures in the last quarter of 2025.
