
SCOTTISH neighbourhoods have been named among some of the CHEAPEST to buy property in the UK.
Areas north of the border topped the UK-wide list of cheap postcodes.

These areas dominated the list of cheap property prices – with 13 of the 20 cheapest postcodes being Scottish.
Areas in Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Glasgow were all named.
Ayrshire featured heavily with five areas being named in the list.
The research was released by the GetAgent sellers report for 2023, which listed the cheapest and most expensive postcodes to buy property, where the most expensive houses are and what is the best time to sell a house.

The cheapest postcodes list named the areas outside of London where properties came with the lowest price tags.
Greenock topped the list with the cheapest postcode in the UK, with an average asking price of £64,699.
The top four were all Scottish, as it was followed by Newmilns in East Ayrshire, Easterhouse in Glasgow and Kilbirnie in North Ayrshire.
Parts of the north got a mention as Bush in Shetland was 11th on the rankings.
Scots postcodes took all the spots from 11 to 19 on the list.
Glasgow’s Milton and Barmulloch were among the cheapest, along with three Ayrshire postcodes, Cumbernauld and Aberdeen.

ACCORDING to GetAgent, these are the 20 cheapest postcodes outside London to buy property with their average asking price.

- Shildon, County Durham (DL4) – £96,443
- Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf (CF43) – £96,757
- Thorntree, Middlesborough (TS3) – £96,777
- Bush, Shetland (ZE3) – £97,500
- Milton, Glasgow (G22) – £99,250
- Dalminning, South Ayrshire (KA8) – £99,291
- Stevenston, North Ayrshire (KA20) – £102,227
- Millport, North Ayrshire (KA28) – £104,435
- Barmulloch, Glasgow (G21) – £104,875
- Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire (G67) – £105,525

Liverpool’s L4 Anfield took the 20th space, with an average price of £110k.
Other areas down south named in the low price tag list were Bradford, Grimsby and Middlesborough.
On the other side of things, only two Scottish postcodes were listed in the most expensive postcodes.
The Isle of Mull in Argyllshire was the second most expensive postcode, with an average asking price of £2,697,500.
North Middleton in Midlothian came seventh with an average price tag of £1,582,398.
