Shaping the next generation of property leaders: Johnson Fellows issues application reminder in National Apprenticeship Week

Share

The Birmingham-based consultancy is opening the doors to emerging talent in the city with its own Assistant Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship programme – but the application window closes in a few weeks’ time.

Recent government figures have shown that degree-level apprenticeships accounted for more than one in five new starts* in the most recent academic year, including a 9.3% increase in starts in construction, planning and built environment-based jobs, reflecting rising demand for specialised, high-skilled training.

However, with the UK property sector still facing an ongoing skills shortage, Johnson Fellows has pledged to help bridge the skills gap by equipping young people with all the guidance they need to build a successful career in property.

Apprentices will rotate through various property sector specialisms within the firm, including lease advisory, property management and valuation, whilst receiving invaluable mentorship from the company’s partners – all while studying part-time towards a RICS-accredited degree in Real Estate.

Paul Milsom, Joint Senior Partner at Johnson Fellows, said: “At a time when many sectors, including property and construction, are facing persistent skills shortages and competition for talent, investing in and retaining new talent couldn’t be more important for securing the future of the industry.

“Our apprenticeship programme offers young people the opportunity to earn while they learn, while developing all the skills they need to build a successful career in property. Apprentices will assist with preparing rental valuations, lease advisory projects and property inspections, while developing skills in managing property portfolios and liaising with landlords, tenants and contractors across the retail, industrial and office sectors.”

Applications for Johnson Fellows’ degree apprenticeship scheme are open until February 20. For further information or to apply, visit johnsonfellows.co.uk/careers.
