A British property company has plunged into administration this week. Calmont Homes, a property development and management company based in England and Scotland, appointed joint administrators on February 9.

According to its website, Calmont has delivered a mix of residential, commercial and leisure projects for 20 years, and it has offices in Scotland and the North East and South East of England. The Gazette posted that it appointed joint administrators Shaun Hudson and Allan Kelly of FRP Advisory Trading Limited on Monday.

Notable projects include managing the refurbishment of Dalian House, an office building that was turned into 92 apartments valued at £20 million.

Its website also stated it managed the refurbishment of an office block in Glasgow, which was developed into one, two and three bedroom flats, valued at £7million.

It joins several other businesses that have appointed administrators in February. A carpentry firm based in Suffolk, A.L.N. Carpentry & Joinery, recently appointed administrators.

It carried out work on properties across East Anglia and South East England, such as flooring, joists and decking.

It said stock clearance sales would “commence immediately across all stores”. No refunds were being processed for items purchased after February 5, unless the item was faulty. Gift cards were also not being accepted.

Its administrators said “changing consumer habits, government budget disruption around peak Black Friday trade, cost pressures from business rates and increases in national minimum wage and NI” led to the administration.
