Airports across Europe have faced increasing incidents involving unauthorised drones, leading to flight cancellations, operational delays and safety concerns. The new system, developed by olee.space, uses high‑power fibre lasers to neutralise intruding drones at a cost of less than £1 per interception, offering a cost‑effective alternative to conventional air defence systems that rely on missiles costing upwards of £150,000.

Drone Major has secured exclusive rights to integrate and sell the technology in the UK, US and EU. The agreement is expected to enhance British counter‑drone capabilities and support domestic production of systems essential for safeguarding airports, energy infrastructure, armed forces, border security and other critical sectors.

High‑Precision Laser System

The counter‑drone system combines multiple lasers to generate a single, highly focused beam capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 6 km. It is designed to integrate with any global tracking or detection system, including radar, electro‑optical/infrared sensors and multi‑spectral platforms, enabling seamless pairing with existing sensor networks.

The non‑kinetic nature of the system means it produces no collateral damage, making it suitable for deployment near populated areas, fuel storage facilities and sensitive electronic equipment.

Proven in Demanding Environments

The technology has undergone extensive field testing by the Indian Armed Forces across desert, maritime, mountain and tropical environments. It has also been validated in mobile configurations, including integration with uncrewed ground vehicles, ships and helicopters.
