O.C.O Technology UK, based in Wretham, has made Barry Mellor its new aggregates director.
The firm’s Accelerated Carbonation Technology process captures carbon from waste and transforms it into a lightweight, sustainable manufactured limestone – a building material used in construction.

Because more carbon is captured than is used during the manufacturing process, the aggregate is certified carbon negative.
Mr Mellor brings more than 20 years’ expertise within the construction industry, where he specialised in aggregates, to the role.
“Increasing awareness and use of sustainable materials within the construction sector is something I am enthusiastic about, and I look forward to building on the excellent work already achieved by my colleagues and taking our products to the next level,” said Mr Mellor, who will focus on expanding the company’s carbon neutral aggregate.
Philip Atkinson, O.C.O Technology UK’s managing director, added: “We have every confidence that, under his guidance, our products will become the sustainable aggregate of choice for the UK construction market.”
