St Helens skills roadshow to help boost digital confidence

Share

The event, part of a series across the Liverpool City Region, aims to boost digital confidence and support through the Login LCR project.

It will be held at the World of Glass Museum in St Helens on Tuesday 10 March, from 10am to 2pm.

Councillor Keith Laird, cabinet member for people, performance, and IT at St Helens Borough Council, said: “Being online is now an essential part of everyday life – whether it’s booking appointments, paying bills, or applying for jobs.

“Yet across Liverpool City Region, an estimated 125,000 people remain offline.

“To tackle this digital divide, we’re committed to working with our partners to empower residents with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in a digital world, as part of an ambition to become the best digitally-connected borough in the region.

“Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve your digital know-how, please join us to help you get the best out of being online.”

The programme is funded by the UK Government’s Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund and delivered by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in partnership with all six local councils, including St Helens.

Organisations at the event will offer guidance on using digital services, information on council online tools, advice on staying safe online, and support for finding affordable broadband, including social tariffs.

Attendees can also access resources to take home, such as the Helping You Online Guide.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their devices and any questions.

The event will also include signposting to local digital hubs, libraries, and community support groups.

No booking is required, and residents can drop in at any time during the event.
