Upgrade Bikes has announced the introduction of Boyd Cycling to its portfolio of brands available to the UK dealer network, with immediate effect.
According to Upgrade, Boyd Cycling was founded in 2009 and quickly established itself as one of the finest manufacturers of premium wheelsets for road, gravel and MTB use. Its range of wheels includes carbon and aluminium rim versions, with hubs at varying price points.

In 2024, Boyd Cycling moved into a new headquarters in the quaint mountain town of Landrum, SC, USA. From this building, the carbon fibre manufacturing and wheel building take place. The Boyd HQ is in a 140,000sqft facility, which shares a few other cycling-related companies – and their wheels are now coming to the UK.
Matt Ryley, co-Founder of Upgrade Bikes, said:
“As soon as we looked closely at the team behind Boyd and the exceptional engineering of their wheels, we were keen to collaborate. This partnership launches at the perfect moment. The new Podium 36mm wheelset delivers a phenomenal strength-to-weight ratio, while the Pinnacle Race aero gravel wheelset is tailor-made for the rapidly evolving demands of gravel racing. We are incredibly excited to launch this partnership and bring these wheels to our UK dealers.”
The new Boyd Wheels range will be in stock soon and made available to UK bike shops exclusively through Upgrade Bikes.
“Bringing Boyd Cycling to the UK with Upgrade Bikes represents a major step forward for our brand. As the UK’s leading cycling distributor, Upgrade has earned the trust of dealers and riders alike by curating a portfolio of world-class brands. Their decision to partner with Boyd Cycling is a testament to the quality and performance of our products. Together, we’re making it easier than ever for UK cyclists to access premium, handcrafted wheelsets backed by industry-leading support. This partnership solidifies Boyd Cycling’s position in the premium cycling market and marks an exciting new chapter in our international growth.” – Boyd Johnson, Founder and President of Boyd Cycling.
