Apple confirms UK update for millions of iPhone, iPad and MacBook users

Anyone with multiple Apple devices might want to check out a new service that’s finally arrived in the UK. Having launched in the USA last year, the technology giant has confirmed that its new AppleCare One plan is now available in Britain, and it could be a perfect addition for those who are a little accident-prone.

This subscription service allows customers to cover up to three devices for a monthly £16.99 fee. Once products such as the iPhone, iPad and MacBook are added to a plan, they are then protected should they get broken, damaged, lost or stolen.

In fact, Apple promises to fully fix the device or offer up to three completely new replacements during the course of a year.

AppleCare One is a little like the firm’s AppleCare+ service which has been available in UK for some time. Both options including fast and unlimited repairs for accidental damage, battery replacement service, and 24/7 priority access to Apple experts.

Where this Apple Care One stands out is that it offers multi-device support rather than just protecting one gadget.

This means it can save people money if they want to cover more than just their iPhone. Apple says a customer with an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch can save up to £11.48 per month compared to maintaining separate AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plans for each device.

Another bonus is that products already owned can also be protected. As long as there’s no significant damage and they are less than four years old, AppleCare One will offer some added peace of mind.

“AppleCare One gives customers greater flexibility to protect the devices they already have,” Apple explained.

“Eligible products that are up to four years old can be added to a plan, provided they are in good condition, opening up coverage well beyond the current 60-day window to purchase AppleCare+.”

Finally, AppleCare One is built to keep pace with customers’ changing needs. Apple has confirmed that when customers upgrade by trading in a covered product and purchasing a new product directly from the company, the old product is automatically removed from the plan and replaced with the new device.

Speaking about the service arriving in the UK, Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said: “At Apple, we’re focused on creating and delivering exceptional experiences.

“With AppleCare One, customers in the UK can now enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+ in a way that’s simpler and more flexible than ever before — one plan, one price, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all their eligible products can be covered.”
