A UK bakery supplier has plunged into liquidation after a decade in business.

Midland Bakeries Limited was appointed liquidators on September 10.

The company, based in Walsall, specialised in ‘providing premium bulk baked goods to businesses across the foodservice, retail, and catering industries’.

It’s website stated it had ‘years of expertise’ and ‘we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality cookies, sandwiches, and pastries tailored to meet the needs of our clients’.

However, after just over 10 years, Craig Povey and Gareth Prince both of BTG Begbies Traynor, have been appointed as liquidators.

The company was incorporated on January 16, 2016, according to records on Companies House.

It provided bulk bakery needs for cafés, hotel and corporate companies.

According to the latest documents on Companies House the business had amounts falling due within one year of £114,698 up to the end of January 2025.

The appointment of a liquidator means an authorised insolvency practitioner takes total control of a company to wind down its affairs, sell its assets and close the business.

The closure of the company comes at a time where several businesses are falling into liquidation, with a variety of sectors seeing major financial issues.
