AI platform launch to create up to 84 Birmingham tech jobs

Birmingham technology company Metcloud has launched Metcloud.ai, a strategic evolution of the business that could support the creation of up to 84 additional highly skilled roles as demand for secure Sovereign Artificial Intelligence continues to grow.

Building on more than 28 years of technology and cyber security expertise, Metcloud.ai brings together artificial intelligence, cyber security and UK sovereign cloud to help organisations adopt, deploy and scale AI within secure and trusted environments.

Birmingham technology company Metcloud has launched Metcloud.ai, a strategic evolution of the business that could support the creation of up to 84 additional highly skilled roles The company’s growth strategy focuses on supporting organisations that require greater control over their data, intellectual property and AI infrastructure, particularly those operating within critical national infrastructure, government, defence, financial services, healthcare and other regulated sectors.

The planned expansion is expected to create opportunities across AI and data science, cyber security, cloud engineering, software development and commercial disciplines, contributing to the growth of high-value technology skills in Birmingham, the West Midlands and across the UK.

Ian Vickers, chief executive officer of Metcloud.ai, said: “Artificial Intelligence represents one of the biggest technology shifts organisations have faced in decades. While businesses are eager to embrace its potential, they are increasingly asking important questions around security, sovereignty, governance and control.”

The business is building on an established cyber security and cloud heritage, operating UK sovereign infrastructure and holding certifications including ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27017, ISO 27018 and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Vickers added: “This is about more than a new brand identity. It represents our long-term commitment to helping organisations harness AI confidently, while creating highly skilled jobs and strengthening the UK’s technology capability.”
