A travel AI company which already works in the corporate sector has revealed plans to work with leisure travel agents in the UK for the first time.
Oversee, which until 2023 traded under the name FairFly, currently offers automated technology solutions for travel management companies (TMCs) and corporate travel buyers in the UK and globally, supporting more than 11,000 customers in more than 60 countries.
In what the company described as a “significant step” in its growth strategy, it now plans to launch its agentic AI and booking optimisation technology to leisure travel agencies in the UK, including high-street retailers and online travel agents (OTAs), to help them cut costs, boost margins and streamline their operations.
The expansion follows growing demand from leisure agents for AI-powered solutions to tackle rising servicing costs, increase operational efficiency and meet changing customer expectations.
The company’s core product is AgentSee, its agentic AI solution which interprets client requests, researches travel options, such as the most competitive fares and rates, and completes tasks, including air and hotel bookings, amendments and cancellations.
The company says its tool can cut time spent servicing a customer enquiry by between 50% and 90%, allowing agents to deal with a larger number of bookings, respond to customers more quickly and have more time for sales and customer service.
In addition, Oversee will offer its FareSaver and HotelSaver solution to leisure agents, to help them open up extra margin opportunities from bookings they have already made.
FareSaver finds extra revenue opportunities by automatically identifying lower fares on existing flight bookings. Average revenue secured by the tool exceeds $200 per optimised sale.
Similarly, HotelSaver finds lower rates on existing hotel reservations and secures extra revenue potential for agents on more than 10% of bookings, according to the company.
The company said the three solutions use intelligent automation with continuous booking optimisation to reduce manual workloads, improve margins and give greater value to clients.
Aviel Siman-Tov, chief executive and co-founder of Oversee, said leisure agents spent too much time on manual processes that could now be handled by technology and free up valuable time for sales and business growth.
He said: “Leisure travel agencies are under pressure to deliver faster service, more competitive prices and better customer experiences, often without the resources to grow their teams.
“Yet too much valuable agent time is still spent on manual processes that technology can now handle.
“AI is already fundamentally changing that equation. By automating complex servicing tasks and continuously identifying extra profit opportunities on existing bookings, we’re helping agencies shift their focus from administration to selling, servicing customers and growing their businesses.”
He said the company had spent more than a decade developing its technology in corporate travel and saw the leisure sector as a “major growth opportunity” and a way for agents to become more profitable. It hopes to work with a range of UK agents, including agency consortia, as it expands its presence in the leisure sector.
Since 2014, the company has optimised more than two million bookings and generated more than $300 million in customer savings, according to the company.
