SCOTTISH broadband provider GoFibre has been officially named the fastest-growing company in its sector across the UK.
The Edinburgh-based firm topped the broadband category in the newly published 2026 UK Fast Growth Index after quadrupling its turnover over the past two years.
The company also secured the position of the fifth fastest-growing business in Scotland overall, marking a steady rise from its ninth-place ranking on the same list in the previous year.
The independent telecommunications business, which focuses on delivering internet services to rural and traditionally hard-to-reach areas, has experienced rapid expansion in both its network coverage and its customer acquisition rates.

Operating across southern and north-east Scotland, the firm has reported strong customer retention and better-than-expected adoption rates in new build housing developments.
The 2026 UK Fast Growth Index tracks and reveals the 350 fastest-expanding independent businesses across the country’s various nations and regions.
Data from the index shows that these firms have collectively more than doubled in size within a two-year period, with the combined turnover of the featured companies increasing by 137%, rising from £4.3bn in 2023 to £10.2bn in 2025.
Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, founder of the UK Fast Growth Index, commented on the broader economic context of the results and the performance of companies featured on the list.
He said: “At a time when we hear so much about the challenges facing the UK economy, businesses like GoFibre show what is possible when they are given the chance to grow.
“The challenge now is to help more of them become those incredible high-growth businesses that make a massive impact across the country.”
Founded in the Scottish Borders in 2017, GoFibre operates as an independent builder and provider of full-fibre broadband networks. The company’s infrastructure currently comprises more than 140,000 premises.
