Aion Auto UK held a launch event at its Slough HQ  brand last week attended by dealers and its joint venture partners GAC International and Jameel Motors.

Aion is the electrified brand within the GAC Group. It was established in 2017 and last year sold over 300,000 cars in China.

AION Auto UK has been formed as a joint venture between GAC International and Jameel Motors, a leading provider of mobility solutions and partner of choice to top automotive brands.

Attendees included Chen, Vice President of GAC Group and Chairman of GAC International, and Jasmine Wong, CEO of Jameel Motors.

“After many months of hard work behind the scenes, this event was a true celebration of everything our collaboration has achieved so far, marking our bold first steps as we set the new standard for car ownership in the UK,” said Jon Wakefield, managing director of Aion Auto UK.

“GAC’s incredible engineering and production expertise provides us with world-class AION cars, and Jameel supports us with extensive experience of launching brands in new markets. Backed by these two powerhouses, AION is all set for a successful launch and long-term sustainable growth in the UK market.”

AION aims to introduce a line-up of eight electrified vehicles by 2030, spearheaded by the AION V all-electric family SUV, which is now on sale in the UK.

Prices start from £36,450 OTR, with PCP deals starting from £379 per month through AION Financial Services.

The network has struck a deal with the AA for nationwide workshops and mobile servicing while DHL provides nationwide next-day delivery for parts.
