Equipment upgrade for telecoms site near A47 in Lowestoft

Share

A consultation was launched in February as leading telecommunications company Virgin Media O2 – VMO2 UK Limited – sought proposed alterations to upgrade equipment at the existing site close to part of the A47 in Lowestoft.

The consultation plan was lodged with East Suffolk Council by agents Avison Young on behalf of Cornerstone – one of the UK’s leading mobile infrastructure services company – for VMO2 UK Limited.

With opinions sought ahead of a planning bid, the council said they had no objection to the proposals as a delegated decision was made.

Documents said the existing equipment at Foxburrow Hill on Yarmouth Road in Lowestoft would be upgraded.

The consultation letter said the site forms part of an electronic communications network.

It said the works centred around the existing 20m pole being removed to be replaced with a new 20m pole, featuring six antenna and six RFF, along with ancillary works.

East Suffolk Council said it had “no objections” to the proposal.
