Digital transformation consultancy GFT has appointed Andrew Nelson as chief executive officer for the UK as the company looks to expand its support for financial services organisations navigating technological and regulatory change.
Andrew brings 25 years of experience in technology and consulting, having led major transformation programmes for global banks and financial institutions throughout his career.
He joins GFT from NTT Data, where he oversaw the banking and financial markets business, helping clients deliver large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Prior to that, he held a number of senior leadership roles at CGI, working with leading financial services organisations on enterprise-wide change programmes.
In his new role, Andrew will lead GFT’s UK growth strategy, strengthen relationships across the banking and capital markets sectors and oversee the expansion of the firm’s capabilities in areas including cloud modernisation, data and AI, digital banking and legacy systems transformation.
He said: “Financial services in the UK are under pressure to adopt AI.
“Without it, they’ll struggle to remain globally competitive.

Andrew’s appointment comes as financial institutions face growing pressure to modernise technology platforms, respond to evolving regulation and harness emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
