A MAJOR car dealership is shutting its doors – leaving some drivers facing a 27-mile trip for future appointments.
Ocean Torbay, which runs sites in Kingskerswell and Paignton, has confirmed it will close after struggling tough trading conditions and soaring costs.

The business currently operates an MOT centre in Kingskerswell and a dealership on Totnes Road in Paignton.
But bosses say the operation will wind down in the coming months, with customers eventually redirected to another branch miles away.
Drivers needing servicing or repairs will instead have to travel to Ocean Plymouth, around 27 miles away for some motorists.
Head of Business Gareth Watton said he was “absolutely gutted” when confirming the move in an emotional message.
He said: “Sadly the news that is travelling very fast is true, and Ocean Torbay will be closing in the next few months.
“Obviously a very difficult time for every member of my team and I am absolutely gutted.”
Existing bookings will still go ahead for now, with appointments honoured up until the final closure dates.
After that, all future servicing, repairs and aftersales support will be handled by the Plymouth site.
Customers have been told to keep an eye on official updates as more details emerge about service histories, warranties and any ongoing work.
Anyone with questions about bookings or repairs has been urged to contact customer services to make arrangements.
The closure comes after another dealership was forced to shut following rising costs, with Snows Car Centre on the Isle of Wight previously telling drivers to travel to Portsmouth instead.
