The UK meat supplier company is facing a winding-up petition and has entered liquidation with an outstanding charge after being in business for a decade, it has been revealed

A UK meat supplier has plunged into liquidation after owing outstanding money.

West Yorkshire Meat Suppliers Limited specialised in the production of meat and poultry products.

The business, based in Mildenhall is facing a winding-up petition presented by British Gas Trading Limited. It was issued on March 30, 2026.

The company, registered at Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, will have the petition to wind up read at heard at the Liverpool Civil and Family Court on Tuesday, May 5.

The meat supplier has been in business since 2016.

The Petitioner’s Solicitor is Sian Phillips, Womble Bond Dickinson LLP.

A Winding Up Petition forces a company into compulsory liquidation due to unpaid debts.

The enforcement to halt business comes as the UK agricultural sector is experiencing significant financial distress.

In the meat industry, it is predicted that more than a third of UK farms could go out of business in the next five years due to changes made to inheritance tax (IHT).

The current conflict in the Middle East has also created further concern for farmers as energy costs may impact stock levels.
