“The Oyster Club will be opening it’s doors for the final time on Saturday July 11.

“To everyone who has dined with us, celebrated special occasions, shared memorable evenings, and supported our amazing team – thank you.

“You’ve been at the heart of everything we’ve done, and we’re so grateful for the memories we’ve created in Birmingham.

“We’d love to welcome you back one last time before we close, so join us over the coming weeks to raise a glass, enjoy your favourite dishes, and celebrate The Oyster Club with us.”

Independent Birmingham, a publication and tour guide focused on the hidden gems within the city, concluded this closure was a shame for the community.

It said: “Ahhhh, really sorry to hear this. It’s absolutely brutal for indie hospitality right now. My thoughts to you and the team.”

Film director and vocal champion of independent restaurants, Richard O’Hare, also commented: “Another heartbreak. Proper fish cookery and always a lovely service. Sorry to read this, guys, you will be missed.”
