WSP has appointed Ruth Bailey as deputy chief operating officer for its UK & Ireland business.
Bailey has arrived from AtkinsRéalis which she joined in 2015 when she joined its subsidiary Faithful + Gould.
WSP said: “In her new role, Ruth will focus on operational excellence across WSP’s UK & Ireland business, strengthening project execution and business operations to ensure teams are supported, empowered and equipped to succeed.”
A chartered civil and structural engineer, Her CV includes spells at Mace and Buro Happold and she started out as a site engineer at Mowlem, later bought by Carillion.
Mathieu du Plooy, chief operating officer for the UK & South Africa at WSP, said: “Ruth’s appointment reflects the importance we place on operational excellence as our UK & Ireland business continues to grow. Her engineering background and operational leadership will be a real asset to WSP.”
