How to check if you won in the August 2026 Premium Bonds draw

On the first working day of the month, NS&I names its two Premium Bonds jackpot winners.

In August 2026, the 1st fell on a Saturday, which pushed the announcement back to Monday, August 3.

From this date, you can check NS&I’s list of winners, which covers wins from £5,000 up to the £1 million jackpots.

The rest of the draw followed a day later – Tuesday, August 4 – when you can find out if you have won anything from £25 upwards.

When to check Premium Bonds winners for August 2026 & why NS&I results are delayed

This month the breakdown of the smaller prizes is as follows:

  • 2,289,959 people won £25
  • 1,931,214 people won £50
  • 1,931,214 people won £100
  • 52,041 people won £500
  • 17,347 people won £1,000

To see if you are one of the lucky winners, you will need your holder’s number, which appears on your bond record or in the app.

Your NS&I number also works, and it can be found on any letter or email about your bonds.

You can use the prize checker on the NS&I website, or the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

Winners are also contacted by email or text, so it is worth logging in and making sure your details are current.

Prizes never expire – you can claim as far back as the very first draw in 1957.

NS&I is sitting on 2,837,572 unclaimed prizes worth a massive £125,420,775.

Prizes count as unclaimed once they are over 18 months old.

Over 22 million people hold Premium Bonds.

Instead of paying interest, NS&I enters every eligible £1 bond into a monthly draw for tax-free prizes ranging between £25 and £1 million.

The odds of any single £1 bond winning stand at 22,000 to 1, with the prize fund rate at 3.8% following July’s increase from 3.3%.

Savers can hold up to £50,000, and new bonds must be held for a full calendar month before they qualify.

Winnings can be paid into your bank account, or they can be reinvested into more bonds.

Who won the Premium Bonds jackpot in August 2026?

The first £1 million winner is from Kent, holding bond number 664BF890888.

They bought the winning bond in February 2026, and have £21,000 in Premium Bonds.

The second is from Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, with bond number 491KF169443.

They hold £49,850, and bought their winning bond in March 2022.

There were 83 winners of £100,000, 165 of £50,000, 331 of £25,000, 827 of £10,000, and 1,654 of £5,000.

NS&I retail director Andrew Westhead said: “August has a whole new outlook for two Premium Bonds holders in Kent and Hampshire & Isle of Wight, with Agent Million bringing the good news they have each won the £1 million jackpot.

“With our jackpot winner from Kent only purchasing their winning Bond earlier this year, ERNIE reminds us that every £1 Bond has an equal chance of winning and that a visit from Agent Million could be just around the corner.”
